The Office of Admissions has an outstanding opportunity for an Admissions Counselor. Admissions, a unit within the Enrollment Management, supports the Provost as well as the University of Washington community.

The Office of Admissions is seeking a talented individual who wishes to join our staff as a counselor, to assist in the coordination of freshman outreach and recruitment for a university that receives more than 45,000 applications annually. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Freshmen Recruitment.
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about the UW, have a strong work ethic, and exercise sound judgment, and professionalism.
Counseling prospective freshman, transfer, international and post-baccalaureate students; responding to admissions inquiries via phone and email; representing the UW at on-campus information sessions; and traveling to represent the UW at high schools and college fairs.
Serve as primary lead point of contact for Schools App, a private community for admitted students. Responsibilities include recruitment of current student moderators and other campus partners, training of moderators, responding to questions.
Assist with e-communication to prospects, admits and confirmed new students.
Additional responsibilities include application review; assisting in on campus visit programs; and other duties as assigned.
| Bachelor's degree and at least two years' admissions counseling and/or outreach experience, or equivalent. |
Must be flexible and have the drive to work in a fast-paced office.
During fall and spring recruitment seasons, this position requires the ability to work evenings and some weekends; travel to remote locations; and load and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment.
Strong interpersonal, writing and public speaking skills are necessary, as well the ability to represent the University in a positive way to diverse populations.
Ability to use technologies, databases, and prospect systems to achieve recruitment objectives.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
| Experience in both freshman and transfer admissions recruitment and outreach in the western U.S. and an understanding of the distinctive qualities of the UW. |
Experience working with diverse populations as well as an understanding of cultural differences and their effect on college planning.
CRM Recruit experience.
