| Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist |
The Section of Hematology/Oncology at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a full-time board certified or board eligible pediatric hematologist/oncologist to join its faculty. The Section provides complete interdisciplinary care for infants, children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders across the state of New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. The Section currently sees 35-40 new oncology patients each year as an active participant in good standing of the Children’s Oncology Group. It includes a hemophilia program, a neuro-oncology clinic, a late effects program, and funding support for an evolving pediatric palliative care program. The Section is also a part of Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center in northern New England, and one of only 45 in the nation.
Academic opportunities across Dartmouth’s campuses include world-class traditional biomedical research, global health initiatives, and renowned leadership in quality improvement and healthcare delivery sciences. Protected time for 3 years, with salary and ancillary research staff support is available for the qualified candidate, who should have excellent interpersonal, clinical, and teaching skills. Active participation in Pediatric undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education is required, with eligibility for appointment at Geisel expected. Salary and academic rank will be offered commensurate with experience.
Care is delivered at CHaD’s two major specialty hubs - Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), the region’s 396-bed academic medical center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and increasingly at a comprehensive ambulatory center in Manchester, NH - which are linked through robust telehealth technologies. In addition to CHaD’s level III NICU, PICU, and inpatient ward, DHMC hosts New Hampshire’s only Level-1 trauma center, its only air ambulance service, and over 30 graduate medical education programs, including a core Pediatrics residency.
Lebanon is located in the Upper Connecticut River Valley, on the Vermont border.
