Starting Salary Range: $61,700-$85,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Associate Director of Admissions (Outreach) is the principal manager for all functions within the Outreach and Recruitment area of the Undergraduate Office of Admissions. Under the general direction of the Director of Admissions, the incumbent is responsible for leading operations in all aspects of undergraduate recruitment, outreach, marketing and yield for the Office of Admissions. The incumbent directs and coordinates the outreach services and relations with schools in California, out-of-state and internationally established to recruit and enroll undergraduate students on behalf of the University.
The Associate Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and assessment of California, national and international student recruitment strategies and programs from the inquiry stage to final enrollment. This includes providing overall direction and supervision for prospect identification, managing prospect data and communications, and initiating and maintaining key relationships with high schools, community colleges, and community constituents.
In close collaboration with the Director of Admissions and other unit staff/campus partners as identified, the Associate Director develops a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at achieving the enrollment goals of the University to increase the academic, cultural, ethnic, socio-economic, and geographic diversity of academically qualified students.
The incumbent is an important member of the departmental/divisional management team, representing the unit/campus to various constituents, including specialized knowledge of global recruitment strategies.
Extensive management, leadership, and supervisory experience, including the ability to address diverse problems, foster a cohesive organizational structure, and motivate a diverse and multi-functional staff.
Previous experience in project management, organizational effectiveness, and business continuity planning.
Proven experience in student recruitment and/or selection programs, or in working with the target populations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including skills in public speaking, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Excellent public relations and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with prospective students, their families, school and community officials, campus colleagues, and the general public.
