Serves as the technical lead professional and technologies administrator for the College's integrated enterprise information and data systems application area. Plans, develops and maintains the systems' documentation and interfaces with these systems. Serves as liaison for Information Technology Enterprise Services and Operations to the College's business departments, and end users.
PRIMARY DUTIES PERFORMED:
Develops and evaluates test plans for new system implementations and upgrades. Regularly updates the system to comply with federal and state mandated guidelines.
Oversees and controls access to the College's resource planning systems and is responsible for its accuracy, security, privacy protection and business continuity. Ensures compliance with, and makes recommendations for, operating guidelines.
Maintains regular communication and works collaboratively with college Information System leads and proactively (trouble-shooting) identification of areas for improvement/ enhancement, assessment of the status of current projects, and monitoring the effectiveness of changes implemented. Troubleshoots, analyzes, detects, identifies and corrects technical problems and deficiencies.
Provides specialized systems expertise and programs to generate special reports, statistical summaries and records. Provides specialized systems expertise and programs for analysts and end-users used in preparing and generating ad hoc reports, spreadsheets and lists. Assesses future system application needs.
Serves on technology committees/users' group that monitor system updates and project status reports. Audits activities related to application system functions.
Establishes and initiates processing schedules application system functions.
Oversees preparation of detailed technical specifications for electronic interfaces and exchanges with internal and external applications and systems. Maintains accurate, complete and current documentation of these solutions.
Confers with external system vendors, functional consultants, enterprise solution providers, internal and external user groups, work teams and support staff to improve business processes and develop raining efforts to ensure effective and efficient use of application systems.
Using application system requests, works with end-user departments to develop requirements and specifications for changes to application systems. Provides leadership and management of approved changes to application systems.
Reviews, evaluates, coordinates, tests and approves installation of vendor supplied application system upgrades and patches.
Acts as the technical point of contact for respective requests for Enterprise Resources Planning Systems support.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, or other relevant subject and (5) years of progressively responsible relevant experience with enterprise applications.
Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in core enterprise resource planning area;
Knowledge of systems security protocol, policies, and procedures and have the expertise in the functions and activities of the department, including applicable laws, rules, regulations, procedures and technical operations;
Knowledge of data integrity methods and techniques and have good troubleshooting and analytical skills;
Ability to work independently in resolving concerns and problems, and follow through on assignments;
Ability to work effectively with vendors, clients, users and management;
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to management and staff;
Ability to handle multiple and parallel projects.
