| The DCC will manage the day-to-day operation of the organization's communication functions, including media and digital outreach. The DCC will also lead the development of the Thirty Million Words Initiative's portfolio of curricula, including all aspects of module development and formative testing. The DCC will engage stakeholders representing multiple disciplines and target populations to inform program design and development and ensure the consistency of messaging and quality of content, across the portfolio. - Create and implement a robust marketing communications strategy focused on cultivation and engagement of external audiences including researchers, ECE professionals, policy-makers, funders, the media and parents- Assign, draft and edit accessible and message-driven communications content for press and digital platforms such as press releases, blogs, talks, web content, one-pagers, scripts, social media content and e-newsletters and email campaigns- Oversee the relationship with external strategic communications and public relations firms and orchestrate a broad range of public relations/media activities to drive TMW's brand awareness, positioning and priorities- Work closely stakeholders, both within and outside the university, to pursue and ensure the optimization of marketing opportunities- Serve as a point-person for media interactions: vet, prioritize and respond to media requests; compose and edit correspondence, presentations and other documents in response to media requests; coordinate high-level media visits and shape messages for media stories; maintain media contacts; track media hits - Manage and direct Communications team members; promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality- Oversee development and distribution of communications assets: website, social media, external stakeholders; digital collateral, e-newsletters, blog, potential annual report and presentations- Ensure consistent application of brand, including key messages and visual brand identity- In partnership with staff, support the creation and dissemination of thought leadership via writing, editing, placement with targeted media outlets, webinars, and events - Oversee ongoing expansion of the Thirty Million Words portfolio of curricula- Manage and direct Curriculum team members; promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values creativity, learning and a commitment to quality - Lead the development and formative testing of all TMW curricula: engage stakeholders at multiple points; guide program design; build content; ensure messaging and visual consistency; oversee iterative phase; ensure timely completion of curricula- Oversee pre-production, production and post-production of all visual elements for TMW curricula and for public education purposes: develop and manage production budgets; vet and hire independent contractors including graphic designers, animators and production personnel; oversee edits; approval final drafts- Meet program deadlines as directed by funders- Support the creation of effective Professional Development for TMW curricula- Respond to curriculum-related matters with respect to the research design and scaling of TMW programs- Advise on curricula-related issues and needs with respect to new grant opportunities- Serve as point person for all Curricula-related matters- Conduct talks and contribute to papers related to TMW curricula |
