Posting Summary: The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia is seeking a Prosthetics and Orthotics Operations Manager to manage the Division of Prosthetics and Orthotics' (P&O) business operations. Duties include managing the front office to include scheduling and registration, charge capture and billing, inventory management, financial analysis and facility management, overseeing office functions, such as training and onboarding, and developing policies to ensure compliance. The position supervises the administrative staff, including setting expectations and goals, providing frequent feedback, conducting evaluations, etc.
The successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of administrative experience with some supervisory experience. Eight years of administrative experience, in addition to the four years required, may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of business management, finance and accounting with strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and strong organizational skills with the ability to handle complex confidential issues on a day-to-day basis.
Experience in managing scheduling, registration and billing functions in a clinical practice is preferred. The incumbent must be willing to learn the intricacies of billing durable medical equipment and keep current with changes in procedure and diagnoses coding and third-party payor reimbursement policies through continuing education. Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding is also preferred.
This position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.
