The Division of Enrollment Services is seeking a Communication Assistant / Divisional Receptionist to support key aspects of operations of the division in outward-facing roles. The primary role of this position is to perform communication tasks, including writing and editing, maintaining website content, and communication planning and development. The person in this role will also serve as the divisional receptionist whose responsibilities include greeting and directing visitors, answering phone calls, and other routine administrative tasks. This role is essential to the smooth functioning of Enrollment Services, which includes the administrative units of Student Financial Services and the University Registrar's Office, among others. Professional, timely and courteous service to a diverse community of students, faculty and staff in multiple CMU locations are presumed for all members of the divisional staff.
Reporting to the Director of Communication, the Communication Assistant / Divisional Receptionist must have excellent communication skills and be able to focus on completing a variety of tasks while handling receptionist responsibilities. An ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities is important. Candidates should be highly organized and efficient, demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and be detail-oriented, creative and flexible.
- Write and edit content for emails, websites, brochures, etc.
- Update and maintain website content
- Assist with external communication planning and development
- Manage internal communication to divisional staff
- Manage Enrollment Services reception area
- Provide divisional administrative support

Bachelor's degree in communication, writing, public relations, or related field strongly preferred, Associate's degree or equivalent required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
