Northern Michigan University is seeking applications for a Director of Business Analysis. The NMU Director of Business Analysis is responsible for providing financial consulting and strategic support to university divisions/units including budget/compensation planning, industry comparisons, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analyses as required. This position will provide operational analytics and modeling to support optimal decision making. The incumbent will also be responsible for presenting data to various campus, community and legislative groups.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field. Seven years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis. Experience with business modeling and revenue accounting basics. Experience working with enterprise financial systems.
Knowledge/skills/abilities required: Demonstrated knowledge of current accounting principles. Ability to analyze, prioritize, and synthesize all types of information to assess timely and effective business impact on a consistent basis. Skilled in managing accurate and timely near-term forecasting and budgeting as well as long-term strategic modeling. Strategic consulting skills, with the ability to generate alternative solutions for consideration, and provide comprehensive risk/benefit analysis on those alternatives to university leadership.
Strong skills in using and leveraging technology, including enterprise databases. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of staff and management.
The position is traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with occasional evening work required. The targeted salary range is $75,100-$79,500.
