| Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Divisional Administrator, the Business Coordinator is responsible for providing direct business support to the Emergency Department business and leadership team. Will be responsible for prioritizing business office functions that underpin the department's mission/vision, strategic plan, and business goals. This can be a high-pressure job which requires quick decisions, so the ability to work well in such situations is essential. Customer service skills are important in this position, as this position may interact directly with patients, and strong written and verbal communication skills are important in order to properly communicate with both medical personnel and patients. This position may also require prior management experience, long working hours, or occasionally being on-call. Knowledge and understanding of the needs, deliverables and interdependencies of varied Emergency services programs and other functional organizations. Knowledge of computer systems and software for obtaining data. Knowledge of new technologies and ability to maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes.|
The Business Coordinator provides project coordination and promotes an environment that supports best business practices and fosters transformation of business administration. Contributes to team efforts and uses appropriate interactive skills proactively to achieve intradepartmental and interdepartmental objectives and goals. Supports business management by developing, monitoring, and reporting metrics. Organizes regular meetings for the purpose of communicating business management and addressing unit/organizational matters. Periodically reviews the department's policies, procedure manuals, etc. and makes revisions as indicated. Ensures that unit presentation and posted information is up-to-date and in accordance with acceptable business standards. Creates and maintains a positive environment that fosters collaboration, dedication and teamwork among faculty and staff. Coordinates patient service matters, complaints and grievances. Maintains and coordinates provider updates in credentialing and compliance. Creates and compiles data requests. Provides assistance in coordinating special capital/equipment requests. Assists with audits and compiling data and reports. Provides resource assistance to staff. Maintains data security and performs additional duties as needed.
Will also coordinate leadership schedules, calendars, and meetings. Performs day-to-day emergency business office activities for all department sites. Tracks overall patient activity for dashboard and any other tracking systems necessary. Monitors budget and report activity for all department sites. Participates in business standards development. Ensures department compliance with institutional and regulatory standards/requirements. Compiles and analyzes data, provides leadership reporting and log maintenance. Assists in the preparation of business plans for new programs and supports program development. Supports Division faculty and staff in management of expenses and provides processing support for reimbursements, account payables, and vendor management.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Experience with advanced business analytic tools preferred. Good interpersonal, verbal, telephone and written communication skills required. Functional knowledge of basic computer operation and keyboard functions. Ability to work independently. Must be a motivated individual with a positive attitude and exceptional work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications: Other Computer Software Skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Email, as well as Tableau and other databases. Other professional/corporate/financial experience.
