As Oregon's Land Grant Institution, Oregon State University (OSU) is charged with continually expanding and improving its economic impact on Oregon and beyond. Phase III of OSU's Strategic Plan for the 21st Century continues the University’s ambitious drive and one of the top three goals specifically targets commercialization and industry relationships: "Substantially increase revenues from private fundraising, partnerships, research grants, and technology transfers while strengthening our ability to more effectively invest and allocate resources to achieve success." In addition, a comprehensive Research Agenda has been drafted, in alignment with the University's Strategic Plan, to accelerate research growth by targeting emerging opportunities, markets, and potential sponsors.
