We are seeking candidates to lead our aquatics program at 4-H Camp Bristol Hills located in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York.
The Pool Director is responsible for overseeing the operations of the pool, including assessing the swimming ability of each camper and staff member, teaching swimming lessons, developing lesson plans for watersports, supervising a team of lifeguards, and managing the routine maintenance and cleaning of the pool and changing areas. The Pool Director is also responsible for assessing the skills of the lifeguards, and training lifeguards in the safety procedures of the pool. The Pool Director is part of the residential staff, and will assist with non-pool activities as needed and assigned by the Camp Director.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be at least 21 years of age by July 1 and have at least of three seasons of waterfront experience. Must possess current WSI, Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Management, First Aid and CPR certifications. Candidates should be able to work with diverse populations, supervise youth and work with the Camp Director and the team at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County.
