| REVISED Title Position Reports To: Director of Clinical Education and Simulation Lab (CESiL) - 12 Month Position |
Is responsible for day to day faculty support and ongoing faculty development in CESiL. Assists lab staff to ensure student success and program growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
Collaborate with CESiL director on the development of weekly lab schedule.
Be a resource for faculty during CESiL simulation exercises.
Coordinate and run a minimum of two faculty development sessions each semester.
Work with CESiL director chairs and course coordinators to evaluate and update scenarios each semester based on simulation evaluations current nursing and simulation standards of best practice newest medical advances treatments and medications.
Provide guidance to students during open lab practice sessions as assigned.
Remediate students in CESiL as assigned.
Proctor medication calculation exams each semester as assigned.
Collaborate with CESiL colleagues to promote lab efficiency and program growth.
Assist lab staff in the setup and breakdown of lab classes and scheduled simulations.
Assist lab faculty in the implementation of new technology and equipment in CESiL.
Maintain online access of scenarios for faculty and staff on MOODLE with CESiL coordinator.
Maintain SIM ER ? including coordinating student purchases with vendor and AU bookstore provide in-service software training for faculty facilitate lab course software setup for new instructors maintenance of barcoded medications and stock to ensure lab class needs are met. Troubleshoot faculty and student?s difficulties as needed.
Support student success by promoting and implementing INASCL Standards of Best Practice for Simulation in CESiL.
Provide lab coverage for University Open House and Accepted Student?s Day events on campus.
Provide daily lab tours as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience with AV simulation and scenario development software.
Experience operating task trainers as well as low ? and high ?fidelity simulations/mannequins.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Accurate record keeping.
Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
Master?s prepared in nursing or nursing education.
Recent clinical experience.
Certified Simulation Healthcare Educator as defined by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) International Nurses Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INASCL) and National League of Nursing (NLN) within 2 years.
