The Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) is a large high profile research center with annual budgets totaling over $31,000,000, with 120+ Statisticians, Programmers, Research Scientists, Faculty, students, and staff. The CBAR provides statistical analysis for the world's largest network of AIDS Clinical Researchers.
The Accounting Assistant V (Financial Assistant) oversees the day-to-day accounts receivables and accounts payables, including vendor payments, invoicing, petty cash, journal entries, purchase and corporate card and preparing travel reimbursements. The Accounting Assistant V (Financial Assistant) is also responsible for the following:
- This position will reconcile multiple accounts and ensure compliance with related policies - Manage Other Support and Biosketches for grant submissions and progress reports/RPPRs - Responsible for maintaining several complex and detailed excel spreadsheets - Ensures that standard accounting practices and university policies are followed and maintained - Responds to inquiries about invoicing or reimbursement issues - Assists with monthly and year end reconciliation and closing - Works on other duties, tasks, and special projects as needed

- 3+ years of related experience required. Education beyond high school may count towards experience. - Prior experience with Microsoft Excel required.
- BA/BS strongly preferred - Experience with Oracle and or other Harvard financial systems preferred - Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and experience multi-tasking - Experience working in a service-oriented environment - Experience working independently, following through, and completing tasks fully - Experience taking and showing initiative
