Purpose of Position:
To work closely with the leadership team at VCU Health System, including the Emergency Department, to help enhance and streamline clinical operations and patient care initiatives.
Bedside and classroom teaching in the area of Hospital Medicine to medical students, pediatric residents and fellows. Duties include preparation of instructional materials, evaluative materials, testing and maintenance of personal and professional skills through continuing education, advising and mentoring trainees, and participation in academic reinforcement programs.
Faculty member will participate in clinical, translational, and/or outcomes research.
Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, and engage in professional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.
Faculty will maintain practice in Hospital Medicine and will provide 19-24 weeks of hospital coverage for Pediatrics.

Faculty member will take on administrative duties associated with this role.
Required Qualifications:Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics or Medicine-Pediatrics
Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21
Experience with education of housestaff, medical students and others
Experience with research and research methods
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Pediatric Hospitalist Fellowship or minimum two years prior hospitalist experience
