FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTThe Department of Behavioral Sciences and Human Services at Kingsborough Community College seeks an Assistant Professor, Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC).Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.Candidate will teach a range of substance abuse counseling courses including introduction to substance abuse counseling, individual, group and family counseling techniques, confidentiality and ethics, approaches to treatment, compulsive gambling treatment and prevention, and supervision of student fieldwork sites. Additional duties include student advisement, committee participation and continuous scholarly activity.QUALIFICATIONSPh.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.At least five (5) years of demonstrated expertise in the chemical dependency field with emphasis on chemical dependency treatment practice within NYS-OASAS licensed organizations.
