Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, seeks an agile, entrepreneurial, creative, and engaged leader to serve as Dean for the School for Professional Studies (SPS). As Saint Louis University (SLU) approaches its 200th Anniversary this is an exciting opportunity to lead and advance the vision for adult education and training in a university that is driven by the Jesuit Tradition of academic excellence.
The University seeks an exceptional leader to continue to build momentum for SPS. The Dean will demonstrate a broad understanding of the direction of adult education and the ability to articulate a vision that positions SPS to thrive. Reporting directly to the Provost, the Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the School, providing leadership to enable SPS to offer the finest academic and continuing education programs for adult learners and working students in SLU's Jesuit tradition of excellence. The Dean must understand how to sustain, deliver, support, create, and expand quality academic and continuing education programs in formats that meet the needs of nontraditional students and challenge them to
achieve academic excellence.
The University seeks an innovative and entrepreneurial leader. She or he will have demonstrated excellent management and communications skills, an understanding of the adult market, a commitment to excellence, and an ability to work imaginatively with a management team, faculty members and fellow Deans. The University is interested in candidates from both higher education and industry.
SPS is one of the youngest schools at the University, and it has a unique mission of access and service to the community and the needs of a non-traditional student population that might not otherwise attend SLU. To learn about Saint Louis University, visit https://www.slu.edu/.
