Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature. Sometimes must travel off campus to local community locations. Must be available to respond after-hours in event of priority web updates and/or emergency situations.
Duties of Position:
Responsible for timely, accurate content on the College's external website. Manages the overall web experience for website visitors. Develops and implements web content plan consistent with strategic priorities of the College. Provides management and team leadership for the Marketing Services web team.
Provides strategic communication leadership for the Web and related Internet communication channels, including brand and message consistency.
Develops and implements Web communication and content plans consistent with the College's enrollment goals and other institutional priorities.
Responsible for direct supervision of the Marketing Services web team.
Acts as primary contact and campus resource for CMS. Provides training and support for campus CMS users/editors.
Manages relationships and logistics with College's web content management system (CMS) vendor and third-party service and content providers. Evaluates current and future opportunities to enhance site performance and service through such resources.
Facilitates decentralized content management of department and program-specific web pages while maintaining institutional standards and access and usability best practices and guidelines.
Primary contact with the College's IT department on collaborative projects and for technical and back-end support of the website and related channels.
Provides access, training and support for online form system.
Works with director and other members of the College's marketing services team to create and publish content on the Web site that helps raise awareness, advance brand and build and extend relationships.
Collaborates with marketing services team and other college employees on digital projects including social media, mobile apps, campus map, calendar, news bureau and box office.
Investigates alternatives to traditional publishing and communication using the Web and other digital media.
Evaluates site metrics, employs strategies to improve analytics, and reports regularly on metrics and analytics to department and relevant campus stakeholders.
Works with areas of college to design and implement web content to communicate the College's programs and services.
Educates faculty and staff of the possibilities for their web pages and collaborates with faculty and staff in the development and design of departmental pages.
Ensures website and content compliance with federal and state guidelines for accessibility.
Manages hyperlinks to and from external web sites to ensure quality and accuracy.
Leads investigation and implementation of latest Web content practices and strategies. Keeps current with and implements emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, list servs, conferences and other professional resources.
Writes, edits and updates web site content for key institutional and enrollment pages..
Serves on College's Institutional Technology Committee.
Serves on campus emergency communication team. Available to provide timely, accurate web content updates related to emergency situations, including after-hours availability when required.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree required in web content, web development, digital marketing, or related field.
Three years' experience developing and managing content for the web and/or other digital platforms.
- Strong writing and editing skills, specifically in writing for the web and other digital channels.
- Demonstrated expertise in CSS and HTML (with familiarity in hand coding)
- Experience with front-end web development.
- Familiarity with SQL and creating queries.
- Familiarity with Google properties, including Google analytics, tag manager, YouTube and site search.
- Minimum 2-3 years of team management or supervisory experience.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with some project management experience.
- Experience working cross-functionally within a team.
- Ability to work independently
- Strong customer-service orientation
