Chair, Department of Health Policy and Public Health The Chair will report to the Dean of the College, serve on the College leadership team and assume responsibility for further leading an interdisciplinary department of faculty with multifaceted health and health policy interests. Specifically, the Chair will be responsible for managing department fiscal and human resources; fostering excellence in education, research and service in health policy and public health; recruiting, mentoring and retaining a diverse and talented faculty; and contributing to the reputation and overall welfare of the Department, College and University. The chair will also be expected to develop a research and teaching agenda in a relevant area.
An earned doctorate in health policy, public health or related field Eligible to be appointed at the Associate Professor or higher rank.
Preferred Qualification Summary
• Consistent record of external funding • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals relevant to the fields of health policy and public health; • Commitment to and experience in mentoring of faculty and attracting, retaining and graduating doctoral students
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • 3-5 years of administrative experience in a multi-disciplinary college/university setting; • outstanding leadership and management abilities; • experience working in a collaborative research and learning
