The Writer researches and articulates complex programs that are fundraising priorities; s/he will portray complex medical concepts and programs in a credible and accessible style. These programs will have broad themes that span multiple departments and often engage numerous faculty. S/he will add substantial value to shaping these ideas by helping to identify, clarify, and confirm consensus amongst University thought leaders. In addition, s/he will create persuasive, informative, and inspiring content for newsletters, case statements, campaigns, proposals, and other descriptive documents targeted to Medicine & Biological Sciences Development's(MBSD) internal and external constituents such as donors, prospective donors, Alumni, Trustees, faculty, and staff. The Writer is a key collaborator in identifying and articulating programs that will be: characterized by leading-edge science and technology; conceived as agenda-setting science; and require philanthropic investments. S/he will collaborate and work in partnership with all members of MBSD particularly those on the Individual Giving, Foundations, Outreach, and Marketing and Donor Relations teams. Maintains productive working relationships with UCM's Communications Office, UCM's Office of the Dean/CEO, the University's News Office, University's Central Development's Communications Office, and University's Vice President for Communications.The Writer will create persuasive, informative, and inspiring donor-centric content for communications materials targeted to MBSD's internal and external constituents such as donors, prospective donors, Alumni, Trustees, faculty, and staff. The materials s/he creates will help build the case for substantial and transformational philanthropic gifts. In addition, the array of internal documents the Writer creates will be a fundamental resource for fundraisers at MBSD as they identify gift opportunities for their donors and prospective donors. S/he will provide editorial support across MBSD. The Writer will assist the Senior Director of Communications in providing critical editorial review and compliance with brand standards for other writers and Campaign Associates in the department. The Writer will produce products such as, but not limited to the following: -Digital newsletters-Case Statements -Feature articles for University or external publications. -Proposals -Web content -Marketing materials Social media campaigns-Video scripts
