Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Student Services Coordinator, with the working title of Admissions Counselor, will meet with prospective students and their families in a variety of venues, promoting opportunities at UW-La Crosse, advising them of admission processes, and targeting students who will contribute to the strength of UW-La Crosse. The successful candidate will execute recruitment efforts and develop working relationships with high school counselors and community organizations. Individuals with experience in marketing, admissions, or a related area of higher education and knowledge of UW-La Crosse will be stronger candidates. Extensive auto travel is required year-round, especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons, primarily in the Midwest.
- Bachelor’s degree (degree must be posted by hire date)
- Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift and transport materials up to 35 lbs.
- Strong organizational and event planning skills
- Ability to be adaptable and manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to use and learn multiple computer technologies such as PeopleSoft, ImageNow, Microsoft Office
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in marketing, admissions or a related area of higher education
