Reporting to the Manager of Database Administration, this person will work as a PeopleSoft DBA within the HUIT Database Management group. The primary focus will be to support Oracle PeopleSoft HCM but may include support for other database and web applications infrastructure maintained by the HUIT DBA team. The HUIT DBA team supports multiple environments ranging from ERP systems like Oracle EBusiness Suite and PeopleSoft to standalone web environments utilizing Apache and Weblogic. Core database platforms supported include Oracle, SQLServer and MySQL.
PeopleSoft responsibilities will focus on maintaining and supporting HUIT's 9.1 HCM environment including PeopleTools 8.54. Duties will include installation, configuration, patching, cloning/refreshing, troubleshooting, performing release migrations, PUM updates, tax updates, and general application and database support. Responsibilities will also include attending customer and technical team meetings, working with release management staff to coordinate releases and deployments, and interfacing with other support teams within HUIT. This position will also afford the opportunity to work on HUIT's PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrade project which includes upgrading PeopleTools to 8.55 as well as migrating infrastructure to Amazon Web Services.
Core technical responsibilities will include installing, configuring, upgrading and patching database, web server and application software; managing and monitoring multiple development, test and production environments; triaging and resolving operational issues; working with development teams on system design and performance tuning; and designing and implementing database and server security protocols. This position requires working directly with internal customers to provide analysis, recommendations and solutions for creating, upgrading, integrating, and managing database and application systems in a distributed environment.
Since this position will be assist in the support of AWS infrastructure, the ability to create, maintain, and develop scripted solutions for the following is highly desired:
a high availability, self-healing Cloud architecture for ERP applications
reusable, version-controlled, well-documented, infrastructure-as-code Cloud objects
an automated deployment pipeline for application code, configuration and patches designed for frequent releases without disruption to the end-user community
