The Department of Economics and Accounting at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a non-tenure-track Professor of Practice in accounting to begin in August 2017. While applications will be considered from candidates in any field, preference will be given to those with teaching and professional experience in accounting information systems, ethics, tax, financial or managerial accounting.
Professors of Practice are teaching specialists that are hired on multi-year contracts, renewable subject to performance and department needs. The initial contract will be for three years. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and mentoring. An MBA or a MS in a business-related field (e.g. accounting, tax, information technology, finance) and professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, CFE, etc.) are required. This position carries a 3-2 teaching load. Professors of Practice are expected to maintain engagement with their discipline through conference attendance, curricular or pedagogical activities, and/or scholarship. Service responsibilities will include advising and mentoring students.
