The Assistant Director will lead and manage all aspects of travel planning, ensuring the overall strategy and efforts align with and support the larger strategic vision, plans, and goals of the Offices of Admission and Enrollment Management. The position will be responsible for maintaining and managing all travel planning and reporting mechanisms, including staff proposals and summaries, CRM software updates and management, and monthly reports for senior leadership within Admission and Enrollment Management.
The Assistant Director will help create and oversee implementation of strategies for enhancing relationships with high school counselors and other key external stakeholders and will represent the Office of Admission to these critical external audiences. In concert with the Visits and Events Team, the Assistant Director will oversee the planning of all events relating to these key constituents including those aimed at building and strengthening relationships and those created to support the overall recruitment and yield strategies of the office.
The position will also serve as the admission lead for the Miami University Community Outreach and Recruiting Program (MUCORP). In collaboration with staff in the Office of Admission and the Alumni Office, the employee will develop a long-range plan to strengthen involvement of alumni volunteers throughout the admission cycle and offer continuous training and support.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with the Senior Associate Director, provide oversight and management of all functional and organizational aspects of recruitment travel and planning.
Train admission staff in tools to ensure the effective and regular use of data in determining travel plans and overall recruitment strategies.
Maintain all travel-related databases and ensure thorough record-keeping and reporting as it relates to recruitment and travel efforts in the Office of Admission.
Work with appropriate staff to develop and monitor high school guidance counselor and other key constituent communications to include print, electronic, web, and telephonic methods.
Oversee coordination of on- and off-campus special events focused on strengthening Miami's partnership and visibility with high school counselors, including annual counselor breakfasts, Advisory Board meetings and all on-campus counselor visits.
Coordinate the use of alumni volunteers in recruitment efforts, working closely with Office of Admission counseling staff to ensure proper partnering and communications takes place between staff and alumni in their recruitment areas and that the college fair coverage process is effectively streamlined.
Develop and supervise training programs to enhance the quality of alumni volunteer efforts and increase effectiveness, utilizing various methods to reach as many alumni as possible.
Provide 6-8 weeks of recruitment travel on an annual basis in assigned territory.
Develop and be able to articulate an in depth knowledge base of university programs, admission policies, and procedures.
Serve as an admission contact in assigned territory and provide a high level of customer service through timely interactions with students, parents, high school counselors and other constituents throughout the admission cycle.
Review assigned admission applications and adhere to all review deadlines.
Perform regular admission presentations and counselor on duty responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
