Millerstown Veterinary Associates is an established family-oriented mixed practice set in the rolling hills and fields of central PA, between Harrisburg and State College. Millerstown, the oldest town in Perry County, is quietly nestled beside the Juniata River.
We are looking to fill a position for a mixed animal doctor: predominantly companion animal with approximately 30-40% production animal work. Companion Animal portion responsibilities would include canine and feline routine surgery and wellness and sick exams while an expanding interest in dentistry, orthopedic surgery or other topics is certainly encouraged. Production Animal portion responsibilities would include ovine, caprine, and porcine clinic or farm calls and occasional bovine farm calls. The new associate would have access to routine in-house blood diagnostics, digital radiology (full body and dental), new dental equipment and ultrasound. There are also several specialist clinics that we work closely with in the area. Rotating emergency duty is shared with the other associates. Established 24-hour clinics are also within driving distance for our companion animal clients.
Dedication to our patients and clients is expected but we respect personal life with a good work to life balance and a healthy mentorship atmosphere. We value a doctor that can think individually but can just as easily work with our close-knit team. The new associate would work up to a normal case load with the support of our current associates and would always be working the majority of in-house shifts and on-call duties with team support.
Both recent (and upcoming) graduates and experienced veterinarians will be considered. Salary commiserates with experience. Paid vacation, CE, professional dues, professional liability, and health insurance are provided.
