The Department of Emergency Medicine at UCSF Fresno in conjunction with Central California Faculty Medical Group is seeking an additional core faculty member. Our emergency medicine residency program was founded in 1974, with 40 EM residents in a PGY1-4 format and is supported by UCSF and Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Fresno, California.
CRMC is a 630 bed hospital, and the emergency department has an annual patient census of 115,000. It is the only Level 1 Trauma and Burn center serving several counties in Central California, and serves a diverse patient population. We offer fellowships in Wilderness Medicine, Ultrasound, and Education, and we sponsor two annual CME courses. We serve as the Base Station for a four-county EMS System and provide medical direction to the National Parks Service.
Our faculty group consists of 36 full time residency trained board certified emergency physicians, many with additional fellowship training. We seek qualified board certified (or eligible) candidates in Emergency Medicine, particularly those with an expertise in education, ultrasound, research, EMS, or pediatrics.
Residents and faculty enjoy a high standard of living combined with a low cost of living. The result is a quality of life uniquely Californian, yet surprisingly affordable. Limitless recreational opportunities and spectacular scenery is all accessible in a community with abundant affordable housing. While there is much to see and do in Fresno, the city is ideally located for fast, convenient getaways to the majestic Sierra (just 90 minutes away) as well as the scenic Central Coast, just two and one-half hours away. Fresno is the only major city in the country with close proximity to three national parks, including renowned Yosemite National Park.
