The Innovate Living – Learning Community (LLC) Coordinator will work closely with the Innovate Director and assigned Residential Learning Coordinator to design, execute and promote programs related to entrepreneurship and innovation within the LLC. This position reports to the Director of the Innovate LLC within the Apex Systems Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Apex CIE) at Virginia Tech. Responsibilities include the development and execution of the LLC events calendar, recruiting and retention plans, and annual program roadmap. He/she will have direct oversight of the Innovate student leadership team and work closely with faculty and staff at the Apex CIE and Virginia Tech Office of Housing and Residence Life. Other duties include: assistance with developing budgets and budget narratives for Innovate; running LLC project plans and related activities to ensure proper student learning objectives are met; compiling and editing annual and semi-annual reports for stakeholders; interfacing with program constituents including alumni and corporate representatives, and other tasks as assigned. This position will interact with a wide array of stakeholders, both internal and external to Virginia Tech.
Bachelor's degree in any field relating to business, humanities, and/or higher education; strong demonstrated experience working with undergraduate students in a one-on-one capacity; prior experience preparing documents and reports in a professional manner; prior experience authoring project plans and timelines; strong organizational, planning and communication skills; strong writing and editing skills; proficiency in computer software such as Google Drive for Business, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Master's Degree in a related field; experience working with Residence Life programs at large Universities; experience managing/supporting multi-faceted projects; private sector business and or international experience preferred; knowledge of or experience with structured first-year programs or other special interest programs; experience with training and teaching.
