Bachelor’s degree in a health science field, such as epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, etc.?
Master’s in health science field, such as epidemiology, biostatistics,? biology, public health, etc.
?At least 2 years working experience in a health science field, such as epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, etc.?
Knowledge of univariate and multivariate statistics (i.e. linear regression, logistic regression, time to event analysis, repeated measures) for cross-sectional and longitudinal studies.
Demonstrated proficiency in SAS, MS Word and MS Excel; knowledge of MS Access helpful.
Experience in research study design and assessing appropriate statistical methods.
Experience in designing data collection procedures and protocols.
Demonstrated skill in setting priorities in order to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in assignment, workload, and pressures of deadlines.
Experience in interpretation of statistical results and ability to convey results to investigator.
Experience in data management, including data cleaning and variable creation.
Experience in sample size/power calculations for various study designs and grant proposals.
Skill in writing statistical methods and results clearly for publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively and concisely communicate research designs and statistical analysis plans to investigators and collaborators using appropriate statistical terminology.
Demonstrated ability to organize, initiate and work independently to address responsibilities; must have strong time management skills and ability to independently prioritize tasks and re-prioritize work based on knowledge of research objectives.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers, faculty, research staff, students, and community contacts and collaborate effectively as a team.
