| Ensure users have proper access and training to run reports on sponsored funding (currently via the application SAP Business Objects); expertise on all standard UCDW reports, the Research Data Dashboard, which includes proposal, award, and expenditure data in one dynamic report with options to drill into data by multiple variables including Division, Department, Funding Agency, and Principal Investigator, as well as other ad hoc reports. The position will have the ability to create new reports (or modify existing) as requested.Instrumental in assuring the campus community has a positive experience when interacting with the sponsored programs database, feels supported and receives fast, accurate responses to data/reporting needs.Support AURA web-applications, manage user requests from the campus community, serve as webmaster for sites maintained by URA, provide guidance to the campus community for agency-specific electronic systems/portals, and help support educational activities for research administrators on campus.Design and develop new reports (as necessary) during requirements gathering sessions with current reporting users. Manipulate and translate data once exported to create spreadsheets, graphs, and other visually compelling diagrams to assist users in understanding complex data sets. Write formulas to summarize data into user-friendly reports for presentations or staff meetings. Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing reporting procedures; develop strategies for enhancing or leveraging these processes and systems for the benefit of campus users. Work directly with users to understand, define, and document current and future reporting goals, needs, and requirements.Responsible for development and regular updates of training materials for users. Conduct campus sessions and meet with users individually, as requested, to ensure users can access the information they need to make data driven decisions.Conduct regular audits of the AURA system to ensure data quality across all web-applications (Grants, IRB, COI, IBC, and any future modules). If discrepancies or errors are found, coordinate an update of the data, or when needed, directly correct. As data or reporting anomalies are discovered (or reported to the help desk) troubleshoot and coordinate technical support until properly resolved. Ensure data is being shared properly between university systems and with outside databases (ex. CITI Program) and vendors.Support campus as a resource for research administration systems/portals. This includes creating/authorizing new accounts for NIH Commons, NSF Fastlane, in additional to other non-federal systems. Assist URA Grant and Contract Managers with institutional registration for online submission systems; serve as an expert resource for electronic research administration systems, providing technical assistance as needed.System testing, support the URA Training Group by testing for future system optimizations, including in upcoming patches and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).URA Webmaster, support the URA Training Group in maintaining and updating URA managed websites, ensuring content is clear, accurate, and up-to-date. Updating passwords and login information for institutional accounts stored on URA's Wiki/Intranet site.Support the URA Training Group in the management of all current educational programs/initiatives along with any future expansions. Develop specific training and educational materials for research administration on campus, meet with administrators, and provide resources and opportunities for one-to-one training as requested. Other duties as assigned by the Associate VP for Research Administration, or URA Assistant Director such as: special projects, system-wide updates, or campus initiatives. |
