The University of W isconsin-La Crosse seeks an Associate Student Services Coordinator (Financial Aid Counselor) in the Financial Aid Office to counsel students and families on financial aid matters, perform need analysis of FAFSAs, and process aid awarding for students.
Responsibilities include counseling students and parents regarding financial aid matters. Performing need analysis, packaging and use Federal financial aid professional judgment to revise student eligibility and financial aid awards. Coordinate the outreach and communication with prospective and current multicultural students. Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Office of Multicultural Student Services. Represent the Financial Aid Office at various university recruiting events and local high school events related to financial aid matters.
Normal working hours for this position are 7:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. 100% Full Year Appointment.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; Skilled in customer service, public relations, problem solving, conflict resolution, time management and organization; and Demonstrate a commitment to multiculturalism, diversity and inclusive excellence.
Preferred qualifications: W ork experience with college student financial aid or financial resources; Experience with computer applications (especially student information systems such as PeopleSoft; and Work experience with student and/or colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
