Job Description Summary:
The Oakland University School of Nursing is seeking applications for exceptional nurse researchers and educators for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 15, 2017. Candidates must hold a current Michigan registered nurse license or be eligible for Michigan RN licensure. The School of Nursing provides high quality and accessible education to baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral students. Applicants will be expected to engage in scholarly activities, teach undergraduate and graduate courses and demonstrate a commitment to service.
Oakland University is a Carnegie research designated university located in SE Michigan and enrolls just over 20,000 students. It offers 135 undergraduate programs, 135 doctoral, master's degree and certificate programs, and division 1 athletics. The School of Nursing offers high quality and accessible education through CCNE accredited programs, including basic BSN, RN-BSN, BSN second degree; MSN in nurse anesthesia, family nurse practitioner, adult-gerontology nurse practitioner, forensic nursing, post master's DNP and post baccalaureate forensic nursing certification program. It is preferred that candidates have a completed doctorate (PhD, DNP, DNSc etc.) from an accredited school, applicants who are enrolled in a doctoral program and are all but completed with their dissertation or doctoral project may be considered if they can demonstrate evidence of being able to complete the degree prior to employment.
