The position assists in the technical effort for the Translational Research Hub (TRH) solution integration to support research informatics and data from clinical, omics and imaging sources. The position will focus on building and testing a scalable, information services based solution that enables the use of large and diverse data sets for research informatics and discovery. Working from defined data integration and solution standards, policies and procedures, this position is responsible for building the TRH solution.
The position requires experience engineering and implementing solutions for integrating data from disparate sources, and of disparate types (e.g. structured, unstructured, etc). This position has proven experience working with SOA concepts and design, including a proven knowledge of REST/SOAP, WSDL, WS-Security XML/XDL and related standards and technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with engineering and implementing SOA based solutions surrounding big data architectures, techniques and best practices. Working familiarity with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and PHI is preferred.
This position will serve as a build and integration technical leader on a core innovation team focused on iterative learning, embracing complexity and change, and making steady progress in providing new research capabilities. Key collaborators include the research informatics solution and integration architect, data architects, data scientists, developers and UX design experts. This position will also partner with a research informatics analyst to interface with many data-generating and data-consuming groups to collect use cases and requirements.
This position will frequently interact with external collaborators through partnerships and consortia and must represent Knight Cancer Institute interests while fostering relationships and developing standards that will allow for exchange of information and knowledge.
This position must become familiar with the Knight Cancer Institute IT Strategy and be a strong contributor to advance interoperability through information in a way that aligns with the Knight Cancer Institute mission and OHSU data science initiatives.
The position reports to the Knight Head of Information Strategy and Innovation.
