The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. This position will work on the Improving Addiction Care Team (IMPACT). IMPACT is a hospital-based addiction care team that meets and engages patients during a reachable moment of hospitalization, initiates and coordinates addiction care, and supports linkages to community care for substance use disorders (SUD).
-IMPACT includes an inpatient addiction medicine consult service at OHSU and rapid-access pathways to community addiction care after hospitalization. IMPACT is inter-professional, and includes addiction medicine physicians, a social worker, peer recovery mentors with lived experience in recovery, and community in-reach liaisons. In addition to providing direct service to hospitalized adults, IMPACT is a change agent within OHSU and through our program development and clinical services is a catalyst for change across the organization. We are leaders in health systems transformation and continuous quality improvement for adults with substance use disorders.
The successful applicant may tailor this position to include other important addiction medicine service, research, and teaching opportunities, such as serving as core faculty for OHSUs Addiction Medicine Fellowship, building and supervising medical student, resident, and addiction medicine fellow curriculum, serving as an clinician mentor for the Oregon Addiction Prevention and Education Initiative, as well as opportunities for office-based opioid treatment in primary care settings and/or affiliated opioid treatment program settings, and serving as study clinician for NIH-funded clinical trials.
