The planner provides both long and short-term campus development studies, project feasibility studies, space programming, utilization analyses and facility assessments. Responsible for the development of scopes of work, budget estimates, and project schedules for proposed University building and landscape projects. The Planner will organize and develop programming, planning and feasibility studies, both comprehensive and focused, working with end users, Provostâ??s office, external consultants, and other members of the Facilities Management staff to establish the goals, objectives, and plan for the intended facilities. Develop and document scopes of work, preliminary layouts, schedules, and project cost estimates for administrative approval. Effectively transition approved projects to assigned project management staff. Provide programming, evaluations and recommendations on space development alternatives. Organize and maintain plans for university sectors aimed at continually improving the Universityâ??s facilities. Minimum five (5) yearsâ?? experience in facilities or campus planning and/or architecture. Experience in a University setting or a similarly large and diverse organization is preferred. Bachelorâ??s (or Masterâ??s) degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field. Significant experience developing project programs and cost estimates. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Working knowledge of technical building systems (e.g. envelope, structural, mechanical) and codes. Proven experience with MS Office and AutoCAD. Experience with Revit, In-Design and other graphic software preferred. Space data visualization skills a plus. Excellent written, verbal, collaboration and communication skills, to work with all levels of staff. Demonstrated commitment and responsiveness to internal customer needs. Proven ability to handle and resolve issues with insight and diplomacy. A commitment to diversity and the ability to work effectively within a diverse population.
