The Department of Ophthalmology at Denver Health is seeking intermittent/PRN Optometrist to join our group of 4 Ophthalmologists, 5 Optometrist, 3 Ophthalmology residents and 2 optometry students. Our ophthalmologists offer general patient care along with specialists in pediatrics, glaucoma and retina. The Optometry division at Denver Health is part of a fully integrated network of 9 community health centers, 17 school-based clinics, and a Level I 525-licensed bed hospital with a mission of providing access to quality preventive, acute, and chronic health care for all citizens of Denver, regardless of ability to pay. Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, serving as a teaching location for 3 ophthalmology residents along with fellows in cornea, oculoplastics, pediatrics, glaucoma and retina. Optometrists at DH are affiliated with Western University College of Optometry and supervise 4th year interns. The department features a full support staff of certified ophthalmic technicians assisting in ancillary testing and comprehensive diagnostic imaging.
Optometrists interested in practicing and teaching Optometry in a dynamic, state-of-the-art health care delivery system are encouraged to apply. In addition to full scope optometry, responsibilities may also include supervision of trainees, QI committee participation, and coordination of our teaching programs.
