|COLLEGE ADVISING SERVICE SUPPORT ? Supports Solano County region DCAC and SCEC Advisers with individual and small group academic advising, college planning, financial aid/scholarship application and college admissions application support. ? Assists with development and implementation of college-going services and activities such as college-going workshops, curriculum, and materials with DCAC Adviser Fellows. ? Serves as advising support for DCAC Adviser Fellows including reviewing and monitoring students? academic progress. |
PROGRAM COORDINATION SERVICES ? Develops college advising services provided by K-14 Academic Preparation Specialists and College Adviser Fellows. ? Assists in coordination of non-school based programs and activities, such as evening and weekend college preparation activities, Cash for College community events, etc. ? Coordinate and facilitate work with community partners to showcase the Destination College Advising Fellows program.
DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT ? Supports the Regional Field Mentor and Program Director with research, writing and submission of grant proposals to support program services ? Communicates and reports on school site and project outcomes to the Solano Regional Field Mentor. ? Supports the Solano County Regional Field Manager with community, donor, and partner events to increase DCAC and SCEC buy-in, marketing and development.
OTHER DUTIES as assigned? Knowledge and experience working with a diverse K-12 and college student population, and sensitivity to issues related to culture, race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status. ? Knowledge and understanding of K-14 education. ? Knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives. ? Experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers. ? Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts. ? Highly organized, self-starter, able to problem-solve independently. ? Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. ? Ability to work as a member of team. ? Ability to learn and implement skills and knowledge developed through program training.

Education/Training: ? Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training Licenses or certifications, if any: ? Possess a valid California driver?s license
