The office Disability Access Services is seeking an Interpreter 2. This is a part-time (.49 FTE), 9-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Disability Access Services Director.
Positions in this profile provide equal or equivalent communication access for Deaf/hard of hearing students. This allows students to receive the same information as their hearing peers in real time, in their first/strongest language. The position also satisfies legal requirements with which the university must comply such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically requires CI, CT, NIC, NAD or related Interpreter Certification. 6 or more years of experience interpreting.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Certification of CI or CT, NIC, and NAD (Generalist)
6 or more years of related experience.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU STANDARD 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.
Interpreters may accompany students on field trips or other events off-campus including workshops or conferences.
Position may be required to accompany student in restricted labs.
Salary (Minimum): $67,620
Salary (Maximum): $118,404
Additional Salary Information: $32.51 - $56.93 hourly
