To directly contribute to the education infrastructure to improve patient care practice and patient outcomes. Works in conjunction with the unit manager, Unit Based Clinical Educator Peer Group and Education Department staff to ensure standardization of practice, adherence to policy and procedure, and implementation of evidence based practice. Responsible for the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of educational activities relevant to the unit.
Role responsibilities include but are not limited to: Unit specific annual skills coordination, product and form inservices, maintenance of Education Boards, competency validation, preceptor coordination, Versant Unit Resident coordination. Participation in the following activities: data collection, staff interviews, committee attendance, classroom education.
-Graduate of a state approved School of Registered Nursing.
-Baccalaureate degree required. Will consider applicant with BSN in progress
-3 years acute care nursing experience
-A minimum of 2 years formal or informal experience in an educator role.
-Demonstrated ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
-Demonstrated ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
-Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization.
-Ability to participate in and utilize research for improvement of patient-care practices.
-Specialty Certification within 2 years of accepting position
-Valid California Registered Nurse License.
-Current Basic Cardiac Life Support training.
-Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 1 year of accepting the position
-A Fire and Safety card must be presented upon hire or must be obtained at our facility within the first 30 days of hire and maintained by renewing before expiration date.
