The McDonnell Genome Institute at Washington University has an opening for a talented software engineer in the IT group. The position will work with an experienced group of software engineers and system administrators to develop software. The software directly supports the tracking of laboratory and analysis processes for largescale genomic research projects and the institutional data (funding, access controls, auditing, data-use agreements). In addition, the software system also provides scalable storage and computing needs for general research.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for someone with expertise and interest in maintaining and extending elements of our legacy software systems (LiMS and Genome Modeling System) as we develop new services and facilitate the sequencing, analyzing, and sharing of tens-ofthousands of genomes. This software engineer will leverage the latest in open source and proprietary technologies to provide a robust, scalable and sustainable IT infrastructure to support the storage and computing needs of all research at the Institute.
Certification or degree in computer programming from a technical school or college plus 4 years of relevant work experience required; additional programming or other relevant IT experience may be substituted year-for-year for required education

The hiring range for this position is commensurate with experience.
