General Summary The University of Massachusetts Lowell invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Dean in the Manning School of Business. Faculty members who are tenured at the rank of Associate or full Professor in any business-related discipline are invited to apply.
The Manning School offers BSBA on-campus programs, online programs, and continuing education programs with concentrations in accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, international business, management, management information systems, marketing and supply chain and operations management. Students enrolled in other colleges at UMass Lowell may also earn a Minor in Business Administration. For graduate students, the Manning School offers the MBA and MS in Accounting as well as an MS in Finance. A Master of Science in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship (MSITE) was recently launched with an option in Healthcare Innovation and Entrepreneurship. A Master's degree in Business Analytics was launched in 2016, and opportunities to create Executive Education and other customized programs abound. It launched its Ph.D. program in 2013, which is off to a strong start, and the second cohort started in 2015. It aims to position the Manning School as a thought generator and leader in global business education. UMass Lowell has an extensive and robust online learning program, which was launched in the mid-1990s and today offers one of the largest selections of online credit courses and degrees in New England. Many of the Manning School's courses are offered both in online and in-person formats. The Manning School also collaborates with a corporate partner to offer online MBA programs in Japan for Japanese students.
Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean will provide high quality, continuous leadership in undergraduate recruitment, retention and student success and will be charged with leading, managing, summarizing and disseminating AACSB program assessment processes and results. The Associate Dean will monitor the curricula and recommend policies in conjunction with the Dean and the Faculty; oversee the academic quality and integrity of the degree programs and recommend appropriate changes, as necessary; explore new options for meeting degree requirements; assist the Dean in all activities pertaining to registration and accreditation of Business degree programs; provide leadership for maintaining the excellence and integrity of various degree programs through research and evaluation. The Associate Dean will participate in institution-wide strategic planning and the annual budgetary process and serve as a member of college-wide committees as appointed. The Associate Dean will also manage the Dean's office staff and collaborate with faculty and staff as necessary to support student success and the strategic goals of the school.

Minimum Qualifications -Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited college; graduate or undergraduate degree in Business -Tenured at the rank of Associate or full Professor -5 years of progressive experience in business/higher education as an administrative leader in a major business or industry or in academic leadership -Distinguished record of teaching in graduate and undergraduate academic programs -Demonstrated record of research sufficient to meet tenure expectations -Demonstrated leadership and management ability -Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications -Ability to work with diverse constituencies and staff -Demonstrated commitment to, and experience with, non-traditional education of adults -Experience with curriculum development and evaluation processes -Experience in the development and implementation of on-line programs -Demonstrated ability to foster a positive climate consonant with the University's efforts to promote diversity and inclusion
