The Behavioral Research in Technology and Engineering (BRiTE) Center in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine seeks a faculty scientist to be appointed full-time, without tenure with a 12 month service period, at the Assistant (job code 113), Associate (job code 0112), or Professor level (job code 0111). The BRiTE Center focuses on the development and implementation of technology-based interventions for behavioral health problems. We strongly emphasize interdisciplinary team science approaches and proactively partner with technologists, healthcare delivery systems, and technology industry to pursue our research goals. . Research areas of interests include addiction, depression, anxiety, and/or serious mental illness, with particular interest in research that is translational and complementary to interests of current faculty. Responsibilities of the position include development of an independent, extramurally funded research program in technology and mental health and mentoring post-doctoral students and junior faculty investigators. Successful applicants will enjoy a competitive start-up package and space in the Health Sciences complex at the University of Washington main campus, with easy access to colleagues in related fields. He or she will be appointed as faculty at the University of Washington and will be part of a Center with diverse interests and expertise. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Applicants must possess PhD and/or MD degrees (or foreign equivalent) and a demonstrated track-record of active nationally-funded research grants. BRiTE Center faculty use a variety of technology in behavioral intervention, including biomedical informatics, data science, speech analytics, wearable computing, and mobile health (mHealth) applications, though at present we are particularly interested in candidates with strong mHealth research portfolios.
