Purpose of Position:
This position will have a key role in advancing the clinical mission with a focus on Hematologic Malignancies, and will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the Massey Cancer Center.
Teaching: Trains medical students, residents and fellows while in the clinic. Expected to actively participate in providing research opportunities to fellows. Mentors junior faculty.
Research: Participates and engages other members of the Massey Cancer Center and the Department of Internal Medicine in collaborative research projects. Stays up to date on the clinical trial menu offered through the Massey Cancer Center and educates patients on their options for treatment on clinical trials.
Clinical: Attends in satellite outpatient clinics 3 days per week with a focus on hematologic malignancies. Attends on the inpatient wards if needed in a backup role.
Board certified or eligible in medical oncology. Eligible for Virginia licensure.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
