The Department of Interior Architecture in the Division of Architecture and Design at the Rhode Island School of Design invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of assistant professor to commence in fall 2017.

We seek a colleague who shares our pedagogical philosophy to establish a clear aesthetic, theoretical and technological framework for the investigation of design interventions in the built environment.
Job Qualifications Required:
The candidate should demonstrate a record of scholarly and professional achievements and the ability to teach and critique in the fields of Interior Studies, Exhibition Design and Adaptive Reuse. A Master's degree (or its equivalent) in Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field is expected.
Being at the intersection of architecture, conservation and design, the Department seeks a colleague able to engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration, within the College and beyond, on the discourse on art, design and society.
- Relevance and excellence in teaching experience of minimum 2 years in a part-time of full time position in the field of Interior Architecture, Exhibition Design, or similar.
-A record of an emerging creative practice, scholarship and research in the field.
-An advanced degree in Interior Architecture, Exhibition Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or other related fields.
Additional required qualifications include:
-Professional experience in Interior Architecture, Adaptive Reuse, preservation, exhibition design or a related discipline.
-Ability to motivate students to think critically and develop creativity
Job Qualifications Preferred:
Preference will be given to those with a secondary field in history/ theory, preservation/ conservation and/ or exhibition design.
