Collaborative Computing Solutions (CCS) manages Cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications for Virginia Tech, such as Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint Online and Exchange Online and works collaboratively with the Google Suite for Education (GSE) Team. CCS also assists faculty and staff in deploying custom solutions to Cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.Monitor and manage the health of Virginia Tech SaaS applications with a focus on Exchange Online and GAFE services
This position has the following responsibilities
Consult with faculty and staff to advise them on best practices strategies for provisioning new services to the Cloud vendors
Work as part of a team for the development, implementation, and ongoing support of SaaS applications
Diagnosis, troubleshoot, consult, and resolve problems with SaaS applications
Conduct and manage learning opportunities related to SaaS applications including knowledge base articles, user groups, and in-person courses
Manage license, contracts, terms and conditions, privacy and compliance requirements (FERPA, HIPAA, etc.) for support solutions
Ensure the availability, scalability, backup and recovery of the SaaS solutions
Act as an interface for support and communications with customers and Virginia Tech 4Help
Act as the support and licensing liaison between VT and SaaS vendors
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field and/or equivalent education and work experience
Experience administering Office 365 or GAFE environments
Experience working in Microsoft Azure or AWS
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to provide leadership in assigned areas
Experience with network fundamentals including TCP/IP networking (IPv4/IPv6)
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to exercise confidentiality, good judgment, and critical thinking when working with sensitive issues
Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
Experience with installing and administering Exchange servers in a Microsoft Active Directory-based environment
Experience with Exchange DAG architectures
Knowledge of data encryption software (TrueCrypt, Microsoft BitLocker, etc.) and techniques
Experience with Linux-based automation process such as Jeeves, Puppet, Chef and general DevOp techniques
Experience or demonstrated knowledge of Node.JS, PowerShell, Python, Linux shell and other scripting language
Experience using Microsoft System Center products, including SCCM and SCOM
Experience working with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technology.
Experience with regulatory and legislative authorities including but not limited to HIPAA, FISMA, PII, and FERPA
Relevant professional certifications such as MSCA: Office 365, AWS certifications
