The Robert D. McCormick Center for Child Advocacy and Policy at Montclair State University provides quality education and services for child advocates throughout the State of New Jersey. The Center’s distinguished faculty includes professionals from the disciplines that define public child welfare including social work, law and psychology. The multidisciplinary lens provides students with a unique educational perspective with which to navigate the intricacies of the public child welfare system and beyond. The Center offers academic programs (Child Advocacy and Policy), administers several grants and provides yearly assorted trainings.
The Robert D. McCormick Center for Child Advocacy and Policy invites applications for the position of Director with open faculty rank to begin September 2017.
The Director will supervise the Center's existing academic programs, which include a minor in social work, and a B.A. and M.A. in child advocacy and policy (campus and online tracks).
The Director will lead the development and implementation of a new Master's in Social Work (MSW) program (currently under development with a concentration in children, youth, and families; anticipated launch date of spring 2018).
Responsibilities also include leadership of ten tenure track and full-time instructional staff, teaching one course per semester, and the pursuit of external funding.
Qualifications & Requirements:
PhD in Social Work or a related discipline.
Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program.
Minimum of two years of post-MSW practice experience.
Demonstrated excellence in obtaining external funding, teaching and scholarship, and familiarity with CSWE accreditation standards.
Experience in program and curriculum development and college teaching experience.
Knowledge of the New Jersey public child welfare system.
