The Department of Health Policy & Management and the Health Policy Institute at the University of Pittsburgh are seeking a health policy researcher for a full time faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant or Research Associate Professor (OTS) to conduct Medicaid Policy research. Pennsylvania's Medicaid program serves over 2 million beneficiaries and has an annual budget of nearly $32 billion. The successful candidate will conduct timely, policy-relevant research to inform key policy decisions surrounding the organization and financing of the state's Medicaid program. Candidates should have an understanding of populations served by Medicaid as well as expertise in one or more of the following Medicaid policy areas: eligibility and enrollment systems, financing and reimbursement, access to care, and federal regulations governing the program. Candidates will be expected to have expertise with quantitative or qualitative methods in applied policy work; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and experience working in a collaborative research environment. The individual filling this position will be expected to conduct rigorous policy analyses and report on those analyses to government officials and professional audiences, as well as summarize the results of analyses for peer-reviewed publication. Funding for this position is supported by a contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. A doctoral degree or, alternatively, a masters' degree plus 5 or more years of professional experience in policy development, implementation, or analysis is required.
