Position Purpose: Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the HRIS Specialist is responsible for the functional support and maintenance of all HR Systems and ensures that the human resources organizational system needs are met. The HRIS Specialist is also responsible for supporting all HR functions by providing HR system support, analysis, reporting, and business process design improvement. This includes business requirements gathering and analysis, design, testing, documentation, and end-user training for upgrades, updates, and enhancements of the PeopleSoft HRMS.
The incumbent manages assigned HR projects related to systems, data, process development and related issues across the full spectrum of HR support areas (e.g., benefits, compensation, payroll, employment, training). The HRIS Specialist is responsible for producing standard and customized reports for HR and university wide distribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Technical and Functional Support for PeopleSoft HR and PeopleAdmin system applications Manage and maintain the distribution of all HR batch reports, including F102, payroll distribution, and leave accruals Provide alternative solutions and recommendations to complex business problems and issues and works with team members to determine satisfactory approach. Identify opportunities to streamline business processes to best leverage the PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin systems Work closely with the HR staff and IT technical support team on the development, testing and implementation of the necessary system modifications Work with HR functional team to develop, maintain, and enhance end-user documentation Share knowledge with fellow IT and functional professionals and provide assistance in areas of personal expertise Support good customer service by communicating and/or collaborating with HR department internal and external customers about impending changes, usability issues, and system upgrades or problems Responsible for creating ad hoc queries and reports as needed and evaluating reporting technologies, to continually improve the reporting process for internal and external customers Assist HR staff with usability of the content management system (Terminal 4) and provides support as needed2. Data Integrity and Security Serve as the data steward for HR information and is responsible for HRs adherence to Universitys policies and procedures governing privacy and the use of employee information Develop and maintain data review and audit queries for all HR functional areas Assist the IT technical support team with the periodically review and testing of HR system security access. Implement/ensure data quality/cleansing efforts Manage and maintain PeopleAdmin system access and core configuration3. HRMS Upgrades, Updates and Projects Participate in the overall strategy, planning, implementation, coordination and maintenance of technical solutions meant to support the departments business operations Serves as the first point of contact for the coordination and completion of system testing cycles Develop and maintain testing plans, and scenarios ensuring that all modules and functionality are fully tested: application/unit test, integrated test, parallel test, performance/stress test, etc. Supports University systems upgrades, patches, and other technical projects as assigned4. Other duties as assigned.Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of all HR systems associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of employee information for Human Resource department and Universitys planning and activities. It also includes set up and maintenance of HRs social media accounts/pages, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc as well as HRs websites. Participates in special projects as assigned by HR management team.

Knowledge: Advanced working knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM mudules: Recruiting, Benefits Administration, Payroll, and Time & Labor modules (preferably in version 9.0 or higher) required Fundamental knowledge of HTML, XML and web applications General knowledge and understanding of reporting writing, data analysis, querying and other reporting tools such as SQR, SQL, Nvision, Crystal, MS Excel and MS Access.
Skills: Strong analytical and listening skill required to understand, review, analyze and recommend changes to existing processes. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required to ensure data integrity, manage multiple and competing deadlines and ensure adherence to University policies, procedures and guidelines

Education and/or Experience: Advanced working experience with PeopleSoft query tool, and ability to write complex and advanced queries Equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field from a four-year college/university or related work experience equivalency (1.5 years of related work experience equals 1 year of college) required. Required minimum of five years experience working with and supporting HR and Payroll systems with knowledge of workflow/automation, analysis and report writing Progressive experience in leading or coordinating HRMS system modules implementations or upgrades HRIS Project management experiencePreferred: General knowledge of federal and state employment laws Basic understanding of People Code and Application Engine experience Experience in higher education environment
