Chair, Department of Family Medicine University of Washington School of Medicine
The University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for Chair of the Department of Family Medicine. The position is full-time and tenured with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Successful candidates will have an MD or equivalent, be board-certified in Family Medicine, maintain a clinical practice, and have demonstrated leadership skills in administration, teaching, research and clinical care delivery. We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to building and sustaining an inclusive climate for all faculty, staff and students.
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington has a distinguished history and consistently has ranked first in the United States among Departments of Family Medicine for the quality of its teaching programs. The department plays a key role in providing medical student, resident, and physician assistant education in the WWAMI region of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. The department also provides leadership for core clinical curriculum in the University of Washington School of Medicine and is recognized for its research and academic programs in rural communities. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
