The Laboratory for Biomolecular Simulation Research (http://lbsr.rutgers.edu) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a method and software developer in the area of molecular and free energy simulations. The main project area involves the development of new methods to sampling free energy landscapes and pathways, and biasing simulations based on experimental data. New software developed for these projects will be integrated into well established molecular simulation software packages such as AMBER, CHARMM and OpenMM. Applicants must hold a PhD in chemistry or a related area, have a deep working knowledge of theoretical/computational chemistry, and a strong publication and software development track record. Research experience in the following areas are particularly encouraged: enhanced sampling and free energy methods, string methods for minimal free energy paths, path integral methods, and constant pH molecular dynamics. Proficiency in high-level programming (especially, C++ and Python) is required, and high-performance computing and/or experience programming on GPUs is desirable. Strong written and oral communication skills in English, as well as the ability to work independently and prepare scientific manuscripts is required. Applicants will be considered at the postdoctoral, research associate/assistant professor and Junior Fellows level based on level of experience. For Junior Fellow positions, applicants must have relevant postdoctoral experience and provide a 1-page description of their career goals.
