The Department of Occupational Therapy at Worcester State University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month academic year, tenure track position in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Occupational Studies/Master of Occupational Therapy program beginning September, 2017.
Qualified applicants should have a related terminal degree (PhD, EdD, or ScD). Candidates without a terminal degree will be considered for the position, but they must have a related terminal degree to be considered for tenure in their sixth year.
Applicants should possess 3-5 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist and be eligible for licensure as an OTR in Massachusetts. The open position requires demonstration of clinical and/or teaching experience in geriatrics or physical disabilities. Candidates should also have interest in teaching broader professional topics including clinical reasoning, global health, mental health and research. Candidates for both positions should be prepared to supervise thesis projects.
The position includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and ongoing involvement in Department and University committees. Most of the faculty members in the Occupational Therapy Department continue to work in clinical practice and are strongly committed to participation in university and community service.
Candidates should anticipate teaching 12 credits/semester, 24 credits/academic year.
Faculty are required to provide advising to assigned students related to academic and professional issues.
Salary and rank commensurate with education and experience. A terminal degree is required to be considered for tenure.
