The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
This position reports to the division head, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) (in a respective Specialty area). The APP is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws.
The APP will provide outpatient medical management to gastroenterology patients with IBD needs. Care provided would occur in an outpatient clinical environment and also as part of team/service to include the APP, attending physician, fellow and residents. Daily duties include providing excellent patient care and consultative service to address needs of the patient and requesting team, identifying and communicating findings with all referring physicians involved in the care of any given patient and at the direction of the Medical Director of the IBD program. The APP will facilitate and coordinate all services and referrals needed for effective management of patient needs, including patient education, diagnostic procedures and subspecialty evaluation. The clinic conducts patient care Monday through Friday.
Candidates with prior GI experience, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are encouraged to apply. Those without prior GI experience but are enthusiastic and diligent learners will be provided thorough training on GI pathology and management.
ANCC Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specific are of specialization.
Completion of a Master Degree in Nursing.
Current registration with the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners as a licensed Nurse Practitioner.
